Michigan Council of Women in Technology Foundation

Get hands-on with cybersecurity! January 20 – March 11, 2025

This uniquely gamified approach will guide the women through cybersecurity concepts, tools, and techniques in a safe and secure environment. Women in Cyber is meant to create memorable experiences that help those concepts stick!

This program is appropriate for:  

  • Women who are early in their cyber career and would like to advance or test their skills.
  • Professional women who would like to consider pivoting into a cybersecurity career.
  • Women who are re-entering the workforce and need cybersecurity experience.

Participants will complete predefined hands-on cyber simulations to build skills, test cyber abilities, and earn badges as well as Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits.

Participation Requirements: 

  • Professional career women interested in cyber who meet the above criteria.
  • Chrome Browser or Firefox Browser.
  • Laptop, Desktop, or Chromebook required (tablets/iPads will not work for these simulations).
  • Stable internet connection (DSL, cable, fiber optic with minimum 10 mbps download/5 mbps upload; using www.speedtest.net ).

Important Dates for the 2025 Program

  • Registration Period: Dec. 4, 2024 – Jan. 8, 2025
  • Virtual program kickoff (required attendance): Jan. 16, 2025
  • Tutorial Office Hours (Every Tuesday, from 12 – 1 pm): Jan. 21, 2025 – March 4, 2025 (~10 hours per week investment which varies based on skill level)
  • Cyber Chat with a Cybersecurity Professional: Feb. 12, 2025, and Feb. 26, 2025
  • Final Cyber Challenge Day & Celebration (Location and Time TBA): March 11, 2025 (Must have completed virtual exercises to participate)

After participating in this incredible program, you will have proof on your resume of further cybersecurity experience and will receive a 6-month WomSA mentorship.

Non-MCWT Member Cost (including membership for 2025): $149 
MCWT Member: $49

Women in Cyber is a virtual, cybersecurity-skills development program for professional career women. During this program, participants will use Immersive Labs’ interactive, hands-on content and CyberSkill exercises to empower one another in advancing their cybersecurity knowledge and experience.
