The Michigan Council of Women in Technology is providing the following badge sessions.

The Cybersecurity badge session is engaging and educational program for Brownie, Junior, and Cadette Girl Scouts and non-Girl Scout girls in 2nd – 8th grade. Each session offers an opportunity to earn 3 badges while gaining essential knowledge and skills in the field of cybersecurity.

Brownie Cybersecurity (3 badges) – Brownie participants and 2nd and 3rd grade girls will gain a solid grasp of cybersecurity fundamentals, unravel the concept of privacy in the digital realm, and acquire vital skills to ensure their safety while using computers.

Junior Cybersecurity (3 badges) – Junior participants and 4th and 5th grade girls will learn the art of protecting sensitive information, while also developing investigative abilities that enable them to identify potential issues and vulnerabilities in the cyber domain.

Cadette Cybersecurity (3 badges) – Cadette participants and 6th – 8th-grade girls will go beyond the basics and learn strategies to maintain online information security, gain insight into the fascinating world of cybercrime investigation and explore how experts track down hackers and combat digital threats.

MCWT’s partnership with the Girl Scouts provides a one-day opportunity with hands-on activities for girls to earn cybersecurity technology badges. Our volunteers help lead activities for the girls and serve as speakers for the parent session. MCWT will provide tech tools and experiences that are interactive, empowering, and fun because GIRLS DO ROCK IT!
