Inviting Girl Scouts (Brownies, Juniors, Cadettes) and non-Girl Scouts in 2nd – 8th grade to explore the world of gaming through code!
Brownie & Junior Coding for Good session (3 badges)
Brownie Girls Scouts including girls in 2nd & 3rd grade, and Junior Girl Scouts including girls in 4th & 5th grade will create a game using Scratch programming. The girls will also need to create a Scratch account prior to this event if they would like to access their game after this event.
Cadette Coding for Good session (3 badges)
Cadette Girl Scouts including girls in 6th – 8th grade will create an app using App Inventor programming. The girls will need access to a Gmail account (a school account will not work) set up prior to this event to create their app in App Inventor.
All students will learn about important female computer scientists and how to use computers to solve problems that help people progress in life.
Cost for students to participate: $10 (lunch will be provided)

Parent Session Topic: Careers in Technology and Keeping Families Safe Online

MCWT’s partnership with the Girl Scouts provides a one-day opportunity with hands-on activities to earn technology badges. MCWT volunteers help lead the activities and serve as speakers for the parents’ program.
The MCWT Foundation will provide coding tools and experiences that are interactive, empowering, and fun because GIRLS DO ROCK IT!
