Volunteer > University Outreach Coordinator
The MCWT University Outreach Coordinator supports the University Mission program by facilitating and driving outreach activity across priority Michigan colleges, community colleges and universities. This role is well suited for volunteers who enjoy relationship- building, organizing information, and collaborating with others to ensure schools have the right support and follow-up. The coordinator will serve as point person for select school(s), working with student organizations at the school(s) to identify opportunities for interaction with MCWT. This may include career fairs, tech club events or other student events. Coordinators may choose which school(s) they want to work with in their region.
Volunteers in this role may contribute to one or more of the following sub-committee areas:
Ideal volunteers are relationship-focused, organized, and proactive communicators who enjoy connecting with students, student organizations, and academic partners. They are comfortable serving as a school point person, identifying campus engagement opportunities, coordinating outreach details, and following up to keep activities moving forward.
As a MCWT University Outreach Volunteer, the estimated time commitment is approximately 10 hours/month for establishing communication, organizing events and follow up with MCWT team leads. Most of this effort can be managed virtually although some events are in-person.
