Janette Barretto is an experienced Information Security Strategist in leading global cybersecurity and information security programs.  Renowned for her visionary leadership with over 20 years leadership experience in IT and Cybersecurity, Janette crafts and executes robust security strategies that safeguard enterprises against evolving threats.

As the Head of Cybersecurity at Yazaki, Janette leads cybersecurity operations across the Americas, Europe, and Asia. Her strategic acumen has led to the successful implementation of comprehensive security programs, unified endpoint management systems and vulnerability management systems, fortifying the company’s defenses and aligning security measures with business objectives.

Janette’s influence extends beyond her organization; she is a prominent figure in the cybersecurity community, serving as Co-Chair of the U.S. ISA-TISAX Working Group, ENX-TISAX Global Task Force, Co-Chair of the Detroit Gartner CISO Governing Body, Leadership Board Member of the Cyber Risk Alliance, and Advisory Council for SecureWorld. Her expertise is recognized by peers, and she actively contributes to several professional associations, including as an Advisory Board to Michigan Council of Women in Technology, Women Security Alliance Mentee, and others.

With a Certificate in Cybersecurity Management and a Bachelor of Computer Science from the University of Illinois, Janette combines technical proficiency with strategic insight. Her career trajectory at Yazaki, from Application Management to Head of Cybersecurity, showcases her relentless pursuit of excellence and her ability to lead transformative security initiatives. Janette loves spending quality time with her family and friends, exploring new places, enjoying musicals, and attending sports events. She and her husband eagerly participate in a yearly 5K run together. She is happily married and takes great pride in her two adult children, who bring immense joy to her life.
