Christine Shook

Consumers Energy

Christine Shook is a talent cultivator, change leader, and teacher, and is motivated by and passionate about challenging work that presents continuous learning opportunities.  Christine’s current role as the Director of Enterprise Architecture for Applications and Analytics at Consumers Energy cultivates this desire to learn and lead.  In this role, she leads a team responsible for technology strategy, business capabilities, and solutions for gas, electric, customer, and corporate business areas.  In addition, her team is responsible for leading the application rationalization program and has led the Generative AI strategy.  Christine has held this position since November of 2022.

Christine has had a diverse range of roles in technology, including a Lead for the Product Model Transformation, shaping financial, regulatory, roles, and change management for the effort.  Prior to that, as the IT Business Case Manager she led the development and maturity of business case and regulatory processes, as well as a role as a Business Technology Partner, developing technology roadmaps and solutions for the gas engineering business.

Prior to a career pivot to technology, Christine held roles in gas design and leadership across 13 years, including the Customer Attachment Program Statewide Manager, Team Leader, and a Senior Customer Energy Specialist

In addition to her technology leadership, Shook is a passionate advocate for women in technology, serving on the Board of Directors for the nonprofit Michigan Council of Women in Technology (MCWT) Foundation, in addition to actively volunteering for multiple MCWT programs.  Shook is also a member of the Detroit chapter of the Society for Information Management (SIM) and volunteers for the SIM RISE/We Build Character leadership program.  Her passion for paying it forward also includes volunteering for Compassionate Ministries of Jackson County (CMJC).

Shook joined Consumers Energy in 2004.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts with majors in Spanish and Sociology from Concordia University, Ann Arbor; an Associates in Design and Drafting from ITT Tech; and an MBA from Spring Arbor University.
