Carla Dey currently serves as the Vice President of IT Strategic Planning and Enterprise Architecture at Stryker, one of the world’s leading medical technology companies. In this role she is accountable for IT Strategy, Enterprise Architecture, Strategic Vendor Management, and Organizational Effectiveness, all of which serve the purpose of driving an enterprise technology strategy that includes simplifying the overall landscape and enabling business growth and innovation. Prior to Stryker, Carla spent twelve years in various IT roles including portfolio and project management, and business relationship management at Whirlpool Corporation, another Michigan-based Fortune 500 appliance manufacturing company.
Carla describes herself as being passionate about bridging the gap between IT organizations and business functions, and breaking the stigma that IT is hard to work with! She has spent her 17-year career establishing relationships, and delivering processes, roadmaps, and projects that support company objectives. In addition to being passionate about her work, she also enjoys coaching and mentoring students looking to enter the job market, in addition to early career hires. Part of her role at Stryker is to sponsor an early talent leadership development program which is a 2-year rotational program providing graduates exposure to multiple roles within the IT department, giving them a broad perspective and preparing them to think more holistically about how things work across the organization.
Carla received her bachelor’s degree in Management of Information Systems from Grand Valley State University and her master’s in Business Administration through Michigan State University’s Executive MBA program. In her spare time, Carla enjoys going to the beaches in West Michigan, practicing yoga, and traveling with her husband.
