MCWT Attends 2nd Annual Ford STEAM Day

MCWT was invited to attend the 2nd Annual Ford STEAM Day on Nov. 9, 2018 in Dearborn, Mich., where they shared how the partnership between Ford and MCWT impacts girls in grades K-12 and helps to build confidence in their abilities to learn technology.

Ford STEAM Day teaches Ford employees how the company is “investing in actionable programs that work to inspire, educate and support a growing community of STEAM students.” Speakers and “STEAM Difference makers” presented their thoughts during the morning program.

Ford partners with MCWT by providing funding and resources to support the following programs for K-12 girls: 18 after-school technology clubs in the GET IT  (Girls Exploring Together Information Technology) program; Field trips to Ford locations where young girls learn how technology is used in the workplace, and meet IT professionals; 3 summer camps impacting 124 girls who learn website design, robot programming and mobile app development;2 workshops for approximately 150 local Girl Scouts to learn about technology and earn a badge.
