GET IT Girls Visit the Ford Product Development Center

Ford Product Development Center

On Wednesday, February 27, over 50 students from Detroit Collegiate Preparatory High School, Detroit International Academy for Young Women, Cass Technical High School and Southeastern High School visited the Ford Product Development Center.

The students are part of MCWT GET IT clubs and they were given the opportunity to experience Ford’s ultra high-definition virtual reality lab. The lab enables designers, engineers and researchers globally to work together on vehicles in real time.

The students were given a hands-on technology experience as they learned about the tech used in the lab. They also experienced the Microsoft HoloLens, an untethered Augmented Reality smart-glasses headset, which uses advanced sensors & spatial sound that is used to quickly and accurately overlay new designs on an existing vehicle model to evaluate changes.

Thank you to Ford Motor Company for hosting this field trip!
