Karen has spent 28 years in the Information Technology (IT) field at General Motors and GMAC Financial Services. Majority of that time has been spent in the IT area focused on running the daily operations. Throughout her career, she has held various positions responsible for rolling out Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) globally, Global Change & Release Management, Business Continuity Management, Configuration Management, Operational Process Improvements, Global IT Service Desk Operations, Continuous Improvement Activities, Workflow Management, Supplier Contract Management, Executive Reviews and many more areas within IT. She holds a Bachelor’s of Administration in Management and Master’s of Science in Information Management & Communication from Walsh College, Troy, MI. She is currently the Director of the Global Corporate Functions & Finance teams responsible for providing technical support for applications used for Human Resources, Legal, Public Policy, Communications, Business Services and Finance at General Motors.
She has been a member of MCWT for about 10 years and has attended many functions including ConnectNet events, Signature Gala, MCWT Golf outing, Judge for the Website Design Competition, Executive Connection Summit and other member events. She was elected to the Board of Directors December of 2016 and elected to the Secretary position December of 2017.
She also serves as a board member of the St. Vincent and Sarah Fisher Center which focuses on improving education and knowledge of children and adults in the Detroit Area. Two of their primary areas of focus is tutoring children to provide them good study and eating habits to help them throughout their school years and preparing adults to take the GED so they can seek jobs in the workforce.
