Michigan Council of Women in Technology Foundation
Jennifer Charters is executive vice president and chief information officer for Lincoln Financial and is a member of the company’s senior management committee. Charters is responsible for enterprise-wide Information Technology and leads the company’s digital strategy and execution.
Prior to joining Lincoln in 2024, she was executive vice president and chief information officer at Flagstar Bank, responsible for providing overall executive leadership and strategic direction for the IT organization, including the successful delivery of technology initiatives and management of IT operations.
Charters has more than 30 years of IT financial services and telecommunications industry experience, with broad and deep expertise in IT strategic planning, large enterprise-wide systems integration and technology management. She spent the first 12 years of her career with Accenture and the subsequent 12 years with Ally Financial.
While at Ally, Charters served as chief information officer, Corporate Technology, where she led internal technology solutions for HR, Communications, Legal, Risk, Audit, Compliance, Finance, Supply Chain, Treasury, and Capital Markets. At Accenture, Charters led strategic projects in support of Fortune 500 companies and managed large-scale systems development, process improvement and change enablement solutions.
In 2020, Charters was named Michigan CIO of the Year and won an ORBIE award in the Enterprise category for demonstrating excellence in technology. She served as president and executive board member for the Michigan Council of Women in Technology and board member for the Flagstar Foundation. She is also a four-time Ironman finisher and triathlon enthusiast.
Charters holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science with a minor in business administration from Michigan State University. She earned her Master of Business Administration degree from University of Michigan, Ross School of Business.
