Fay Ghoujeghi’s learning journey of professional development with MCWT has reached new heights. As an MCWT member, Ghoujeghi had an opportunity to experience a 6-month scholarship program. To learn more about Fay’s journey, keep reading.
As a thank you for participating in a Tech Whisperers podcast hosted by consulting firm Ouellette and Associates, former Masco executive Michelle Greene was able to offer a nonprofit of her choice a one-year scholarship for one of its members. She selected the Michigan Council of Women in Technology. As a result, Fay Ghoujeghi, enterprise IT program manager, was granted the opportunity for an in-depth learning journey.
Part of the scholarship involved attending the Technology Leadership Experience (TechLX), an 8-month program that started September 2021 and ended April 2022.
Ghoujeghi was no stranger to leadership trainings, and was excited to engage in this national program that would enable her to build strong relationships with accomplished women from various industries.
“I had participated in similar Leadership programs at the companies I had worked for in the past,” said Ghoujeghi. “I was appreciative of MCWT to provide me with this opportunity which is national and included participants from all over the U.S. This program gave me a broader perspective.
Ghouieghi is a long-time MCWT supporter and has contributed much since she became a member in 2007. From volunteering as a partner lead, participating in programs and events, and serving on the advisory board for the past 2 years, she has helped shape our impact. This was a way for MCWT to give back to her.
During this immersive leadership program, Ghouieghi was assigned to a sub-cohort team of eight to meet monthly, met with her mentor regularly and attended two workshops on marketing IT and becoming a trusted advisor. She rounded out the program by delivering a Capstone project to her former organization, Flagstar Bank.
“The most valuable part of the program was sub-cohort meetings, where we shared our challenges at work and gave each other tips to deal with them,” said Ghoujeghi. “Women who are early on in their career and aspire to become a manager or leader will benefit the most from this program.”
There are many possibilities to thrive in the technology sector and Ghoujeghi took this amazing opportunity to learn how to further grow and succeed in her technology career.
